Might just be the best food in Greece - made by Calliarios Pantelis!

Pantelis is located on the south pier of Symi town, at the very eastern end. Menu is a mix of modern Greek and Italian, with a taste of ethnic to it. Lamb with bulgur, mixed seafood risotto and octopus pasta were to die for!

Go and have a look in the kitchen where chef Calliaros Pantelis makes his magic. He might just have a daily specialty to recommend. When we were there, we got to taste the baby pork he was preparing for a party...

Special thanks for our guests of last week for this lovely dinner! If it wasn't for the tricky Greek winds, we would definitely have returned for another tasting! Oh well, next time!

Boat Grill is a Must Have

Grill is the best investment we have made to this boat! We knew from the beginning we want to have one but only started to search for it in La Coruña.

Grilling is the ultimate way to cook on a boat! We use ours almost every day!

It took us all the way to Santa Ponsa in Mallorca, however, to finally get it. It was not an easy task to find a store selling boat grills. And since we never exactly knew where and how long we would stay, it was impossible to order one to a specific store. Finally in Mallorca we got lucky.

There was no other choice except size – the store was only selling one brand: Magma. After using it for more than a month now, we have no complaints! Ours uses coal, which has worked perfectly and gives a yummy ‘grill’ taste.

Can't get much simpler and better than this! And grill master has a winning grill sauce for the steak!

Favorites List No 1

We haven’t been eating out very much at all – the first weeks were non-stop sailing and after we reached Spain, the amazing selection of fresh (sea) food in stores and markets has led to a lot of cooking on the boat. That’s a guarateed way to get excatly want you want – at least most of the times!

We will never forget the first home made sea food luch we had in Viviero!

We have, however, found a few restaurants and bars we want to highlight as truly worth the visit and money:

Le Crabe Martenau in Brest
This restaurant is located in the waterfront of Brest, close to the city’s new harbor . The name of the place gives indication on the focus of the menu – and that’s crabs! Dining there is truly an experience!

The Yetman Hotel in Porto
This luxorious hotel on top of a hill in Porto has one of the best views in town. There is a restaurant and bar on the top floor, serving excellent food and port wine based drinks. The bar side is more relaxed and less expensive.

Masala in Cascais
Masala is an Indian restaurant in Cascais, a beach town just outside of Lisbon. Don’t know if it was an overdose of home cooked seafood or what but they served the best Indian food we have ever tasted! Based on the popularity of the place, we were not the only ones who thought so!

Yacth Club in Portimão
This is a Caribbean style chilled bar and restaurant just in front of the anchorage spot in Portimão. Live music on Friday evening – can’t get much better! There’s no webiste or directions, but looking from the beach, it’s the red roofed bar on the left side of the beach.

Can't get much more chill than this!
